IVONNE'S
DIGITAL DIARY & BLOG
About
Welcome!
This blog will basically explore life through my lens, specifically how language, images, barriers, and hardships in the digital world shape how we see the world. I am the type of person who constantly finds herself on social media, whether that is TikTok or Instagram, Ive come to the conclusion that they influence how we connect to our emotions, identity and find meaning to life.

Introduction.
My name is Ivonne Gonzalez, and in order to get this blog started, I feel it is right for me to personally introduce myself and talk more about how I live my life on a daily basis. I am a full-time student here at SDSU, from San Diego, and I am a commuter student. As a young adult, I found myself wanting to stay close to home when deciding where to pursue my education. I grew up in a close-knit family that continues to play a big role in my life and shape who I am now. I live with both my parents. I have one sister, who is now married, so I'm basically an only child since it's just been my parents and me, and I often find myself third-wheeling with both of them since I am the youngest daughter! Outside of school and family, I enjoy keeping a small circle. I have my best friend from high school, Jake, who also attends SDSU. He and I love going out for coffee and matcha, going on hikes, and thrifting and shopping for skin care, makeup, and fashion. Although these activities may seem simple or ordinary, they are the highlights of my day, and simple stuff like that brings me so much joy and peace. A lot of the time, I find myself vlogging, posting TikTok hauls of what I buy, or filming GRWM (get ready with me). Social media plays a significant role in how I see life, and I often find myself romanticizing simple actions, like treating myself to a coffee or matcha and filming it, or even trying new places I see in other people's posts. I am very drawn to the ideas of self-care and self-love, which is why I also read a lot of self-care books to keep my mind and brain away from too much technology at times. But at times, romanticizing life through social media is a form of creativity and self-expression, and documenting my life so that, in a few years, I will see how much I've grown as a person and how much I have healed. Although many people believe social media presents a curated version of reality, I find value in it, and I put only good intentions into what I post and consume online.
